Who : Jane Cox MaRCA, AWG, CPA( Fellow) and Past Master of The Art Workers Guild (AWG) and local Binnel Studios artist specialises in vibrant ceramics combining elegant shapes with rich translucent glazes. New stylish Black & White designs commissioned by The British Library for their exhibition on “Sacred Texts” will be on show together with emerald blues, greens, turquoises and speckle glazes inspired by the island shoreline.
Jane will also be showing items from her new “Jade Green” range and new blue and white range inspired by the patterns of billowing sails of the yachts sailing around the island.
Sue Lowday MA, AWG works primarily with eco vegetable tanned leathers for over thirty years exploring the unique properties of moulding and shaping leather and developing unique dye techniques. Sue will be showing a range of sculptural unique bags (some of which feature in national museum collections) as well as practical everyday items such as colourful unisex belts, bags, key-rings, wallets and purses.
Last year Sue completed a major commission for the Bishop of Stepney. Sue designed and made a special bespoke embossed leather case to hold and carry the Bishop’s crozier.
Sue is also showing her ethereal metal sculptures inspired by rock formations, several examples are part of the Sheffield Museums and private collections.
