Jane Cox MaRCA, AWG, CPA( Fellow) and Past Master of The Art Workers Guild (AWG) and local Binnel Studios artist specialises in vibrant ceramics combining elegant shapes with rich translucent glazes. New Classic Black & White designs commissioned by The British Library for their exhibition on “Sacred Texts” will be on show together with emerald blues, greens, turquoises and speckle glazes inspired by the island shoreline.
For 25 years Jane has been researching and developing earthenware glazes, creating a glaze palette unique to her work.
Sue Lowday MA, AWG works primarily with eco vegetable tanned leathers for over thirty years exploring the unique properties of moulding and shaping leather and developing unique dye techniques. Work on show encompasses sculptural formed bags that can be found in museum collections. Sue also designs and makes practical everyday items like belts for ladies and gentlemen, bags, key rings and purses.
Sue is currently completing a major commission for the Bishop of Stepney. Three makers from the Sussex Guild of Craftsmen were approached to collaborate on a special crozier and crozier case by the Bishops mother. Sue is making the very special embossed leather case to hold and carry the crozier as the Bishop performs her duties across the diocese.
Sue is also showing her ethereal metal sculptures inspired by rock formations.
