Cycling

Ventnor Undercliff, offers a  fabulous alterantive route  for  round the Island cycling enthusiasts. The blue and white signs send cyclists on the busier  Whitwell road  in Upper Ventnor, missing out on the scenic, traffic free  route from St Lawrence to Niton after the landslip in 2014 closed the road to through traffic. Stop off at Ventnor Botanic Garden en route to  recharge your body and your bike.

Walking

With Steephill Cove minutes away one can visit one of the Isle of Wight’s most iconic fishing villages and sneak in a swim at high tide. Or better yet walk west on the coastal path and try the more secluded beaches of Orchard Bay and Woody Bay. St Cathrines lighthouse beckons the more adventurous and offers a glimpse into Victorian engineering. One can also walk up onto Ventnor Down with its “pillboxes” – the fortified machine gun turrets on World War II that dot the Island.
