The kingdom of Fungi is one of five kingdoms of life. The others, animals, plants, unicellular creatures and bacteria, all rely upon fungi for their existence. Recent studies studies have confirmed how vital fungi are in encouraging around 90% of all plants to grow successfully. Fungi also enable many plants to tap into a much wider network of sprawling underground filaments sometimes referred to as the ‘Wood Wide Web’.
