The Potting Shed

“Unique, peaceful and special hideaway. The takeaway meals and local beer were fabulous. Free access to Botanic Gardens when quiet was perfect for spotting red squirrels and lizards. Lovely short walk to a local cove and Ventnor beach.”
Colin Sept 2023

“Very special holiday home set in Botanical gardens with 24hrs access to gardens. Dog and children adored it. Steephill Cove is a fabulous beach and wonderful walk along costal path to Spyglass Inn at Ventnor.”
Mr P Ball.

All stays at VBG include complimentary (Yes, free!) access to Ventnor Botanic Garden and its Shop, Café, Restaurant, Studio, and Garden Gallery. See for more about “What’s On.” Staying at Ventnor Botanic Garden gives you a great base to explore the Coastal Path, Steephill Cove, and The Undercliff.

Guest access

Guests can enjoy complimentary access to the whole of the Garden – even when the Garden is closed to the public. The Potting Shed is also easy walking distance to the picturesque Steephill Cove.

The neighbourhood

Ventnor Botanic Garden sits right on the Coastal Path which runs along the cliff top to Ventnor to the East and St Catherine’s Lighthouse to the West – a particularly beautiful area.

Ventnor is a charming Victorian town with many boutique shops, superb eateries and a family friendly beach.
