We announce the winner to our school playground sign competition

We would like to both, thank and congratulate everyone who took part in our local school’s art competition earlier in the year to design a new playground sign for our play area.

With so many fantastic and colourful designs set in from local schools from across the Isle of Wight, we were blown away by the entries! Working with the local community is incredibly important to us here at Ventnor Botanic Garden.

The runners’ up!

Sadly, not all our entries could win… So, we had a difficult decision to make on who would win our top prize and who would win our two runners up prizes for their designs. Here are the two runners’ up…

With thanks to Lucy in year 2 at Niton Primary and Isabelle from Godshill Primary for winning our runner up positions. You will both receive an annual family pass to the Garden for your whole family.

There can only be one winner…

We chose this design from Tabitha, aged 7 from Wroxall Primary school because of her use of beautiful bright colours, pretty flowers, and clear and colourful text as our winner for the new playground sign.

Tabitha and her whole class will be invited to the unveiling of the new sign once it has been completed, the new sign will include Tabitha’s bright design and will welcome people to the playground for years to come. Tabitha will also receive £25.00 and a family annual pass.

We are also donating a seed bundle to Wroxall Primary school to grow a mix of flowers for the school children to enjoy.
Thank you again to all the children who took part!
