The show on 22nd April, from 10:00, will be open to the community, friends, family and support networks and is tailored for the older individual.
The aim of the Older Persons Good Living Show is to allow the older individual to be aware of what is available to them to allow them to stay at home, independently, safely and happily for as long as possible.
In the form of an information-style fair, the community will be able to meet and get to know available services so they can receive information and advice as well as social opportunities from Isle of Wight services.
Services available to meet and chat with a range from, equipment for the home to financial support to social groups; covering all aspects of living in order to allow the older individual to be able to remain happy, safe and healthy at home.
Some examples of services that have confirmed their attendance include:
- Utility Warehouse – to discuss energy bills and saving tips
- Age UK- Hospital and Dementia Care Navigator
- Ask Jay the Handyman
- Penny’s Pilates – keeping fit and mobile to prevent falls
